how marking works
One rough blob per part, each in its own colour.
Paint inside the part — the boundary is worked out from
the picture, not from your blob.
The finer the part, the closer to its edge you have
to paint. A thin sabre marked with a dot loses half of itself to the
jaw beside it; marked along its length it does not.
Alt or the right button erases.
reach is how far a mark may spread beyond
what you painted, and it is the setting that decides everything. At
24 px the cut follows your brush. Wind it up and the marks divide
the whole figure between them, which puts the seams halfway between
your blobs rather than on the drawing.
Whatever no mark reached becomes one layer at the
back. Switch that off to keep only the parts you marked — for
taking two limbs out of this picture and the rest out of another.
Names decide the rig. kopf or
head gives a neck pivot and a gaze,
arm a shoulder and a sway. The field offers every word
that works.
Cutting a flat picture can only recover what is
visible. What lies behind a part is not in the file, so a
part that moves far shows a hole. Measured on the priest: a pupil
with 6 visible pixels cannot be cut out at all — eyes want
their own drawn images.
